Great Lineup...missed Gibson & open mic sessions
I have been coming to the Festival for the past 6 years with my mom and one of my favorite things was to meet other musicians at the Gibson truck and jam with them between artists. We all liked the fact that the Quad stage was in the center of the fort this year, that was cool. I was really hoping to win a Gibson Acoustic on my 19th Birthday (July 31st), I did have a great time though. I was a bit disappointed they weren’t there this year. As always there was a nice mix of new and seasoned artists. One of these days I hope to play on any one of the stages, see you next year. Sarah Jarosz, Andre Bird & Preservation Jazz Hall Band were really good. Thanks for a great weekend! I really enjoyed John Prine especially and am grateful to his contributions to music in general. I knew many of his songs from hearing them played at various Blue Grass gatherings and had not realized that he wrote them. It was a great festival. It was also great to see the Avett Bros, Brandi Carlile and Edward Sharpe. If anyone is short a guitar player, I can jump in on anything and play along. I had a great teacher who trained me to improve from the moment I held a guitar in my hand at the age of 12.
